Barbeque Pineapple – A Nice Treat For Your Guests

It is a surprise that pineapple can be put under the grill. Most fruits are too delicate for grilling, but pineapple is an exception. If you want a mouth-watering treat, grab your fresh pineapple and start grilling. You will surprise yourself and your family with the treat that pineapple brings when it is hit with fire.

A lot of barbeque pineapple recipe that will knock your tastebuds out are available, but first, you have to learn the basics of barbequing pineapple.

Choose the right pineapple. There really is no rule in picking the pineapple fruit; however, you can get tips that will help you pick the ones with the best taste. You would want a ripe pineapple, not a mushy one.

Check the bottom of the pineapple; you would want to see the yellow running up an inch or more. Feel and smell the pineapple. Pick up a pineapple with a sweet flavor; the stronger the smell of the pineapple, the riper it is.

Cut the pineapple. Some people cheat using the electric knife to cut pineapple, while some do well with a kitchen knife. Cut the pineapple from top to the bottom; make four parts. If you are too lazy to get a fresh pineapple, you may just buy canned pineapples. Rings can also be great for grills and are best for Hawaiian burgers.

A lot of sauces are best slathered with barbeque pineapple. The basic sauce comprise of butter, pineapple wedges, honey, and lime or lemon juice.
